Discover the Art of Steep Skiing at White Grizzly: Canada's Ultimate Snow cat Adventure

When it comes to cat skiing in Canada, few experiences rival the raw intensity and thrill of steep skiing at White Grizzly. Tucked deep in the Selkirk Mountains near Nelson, BC, White Grizzly offers something bold, rugged, and exhilarating terrain that truly sets it apart from the rest.

The Terrain: Steep Trees. Deep Pow.

At White Grizzly, it's not just the snow it's the terrain that defines the experience. While many of the runs begin above the treeline, perfect for a few cruisy turns on a bluebird day, that’s not the heart of what we do. There are plenty of other cat skiing or Nelson BC heli skiing operations that offer gentle, alpine bowls and blue runs all day long. But if you crave steep chutes, tight trees, natural drops, and untouched pillows of legendary Kootenay Coldsmoke  you're in the right place.

Here, it’s about creative lines, playful terrain, and expert navigation through deep powder under the guidance of professionals. You’ll find the perfect balance between adventure and safety on your snowcat skiing journey. Our terrain, set in the Goat Range of BC’s Selkirks, is northeast-facing  protecting it from sun and wind, and keeping conditions prime nearly every day of the season.

If you're looking for steep tree runs that challenge and inspire, White Grizzly delivers. It’s a skier’s playground for those who live for deep, technical lines.

The Ride: Inside the Snowcat

The climb to each run isn’t just a way to get back to the top   it’s part of the adventure. Our heated snowcats are equipped with comfortable seating, Bluetooth speakers, and storage, creating the perfect mobile basecamp between descents. It’s your time to rest, refuel, and get stoked for the next run. And because White Grizzly only operates one cat at a time, your group gets private access to an entire mountain. No crowds. No waiting. Just pure, unfiltered cat skiing Canada style.

And in true White Grizzly fashion, we always have a backup snowcat on standby ensuring your day continues smoothly no matter what.

All-Inclusive Catskiing Packages

Running from mid-December through early April, White Grizzly offers immersive three- and four-day cat skiing packages that prioritize quality and vertical. You can expect between 6 and 9 epic runs per day totaling up to 5,000 vertical metres (16,500 feet). Each trip includes expert guiding, lodge accommodation, chef-prepared meals, après snacks, and more. It’s not just a ski trip  it’s a full winter retreat built around the spirit of the backcountry.

Who is White Grizzly For?

White Grizzly is tailored for advanced and expert skiers and snowboarders. If you’re confident navigating double black diamonds at North American resorts or advanced terrain in Europe, you’re ready for this. Deep powder, tight trees, and long fall lines await. This is the kind of skiing that adrenaline junkies and powder chasers dream of.

If you’ve already experienced destinations like Mustang cat skiing or Nelson BC heli skiing, and want something more focused on steep skiing and solitude, White Grizzly is your next move.
